The Drastics are a jazz-inspired reggae band that incorporates heavy dubs, traditional elements, and esoteric sounds. They perform original instrumental music, featuring a two-horn, tenor-trombone front line with live dub effects and improvisation. Brian Citro joined The Drastics in 2005 and has been performing, touring, and recording with the band ever since. His distinctive tone, solos, and rhythm section playing are central to the band’s sound.
The Drastics have released seven full-length albums, several EPs, and many singles, including albums on Jump Up Records and Happy as a Lark. Following Michael Jackson’s death in 2009, they released MJ a Rocker, recording new arrangements of some of MJ’s most iconic songs along with his original vocals. They released their most recent albums, The Drastics and Remassive, in 2024.
